Here are a few questions that will help you on your way:
Can I create new threads?"
Of course! We appreciate all tries to help increase our activity. Feel free to post as many new topics as you want.
What are "PMs"?
The word PM stands for Private Messages. Private Messages are similar to email, but they are website based. So, you can chat privately with other members. No one except you and the other member can see this message. To access your PMs, look in the upper left hand corner, under the banner. It says, "ยป Check PMs No New" Click on the "Check PMs", and a drop down menu comes up that says, "Total PMs: 5 - New: 0 [ Inbox ] [ Outbox ] [ Compose ] [ Preferences ]". Here you can send messages to other members.
When I try to send a new message, it says the member doesn't exist!
That is because the PM systems are based on usernames. So, you have to type in whatever the person used to sign up. To find out what this name is, go to the user's profile. See up at the top (for example, in my profile), it says " View Profile: Zangoose (username: admin)". My username is "admin". So if you want to send a PM to me, in the username so, you would put "admin", NOT "Zangoose"
Can I be a member of staff
We appreciate that you would like to be a part of the team, however we only give these places to people who we think should deserve it, and not everyone, in our eyes are deserving. So, basically, if you have proven yourself to be deserving, we will think about it. Please do not PM us asking for staff positions.
Do I have to be active on Lost Without A Map
Nope, not at all.. You may be active if you wish to, we do not force members to be active; however, if you do not log in for 1 month without reason (vacation, etc.), you WILL be deleted. Don't worry, we will send you an email just prior to deleting you, giving you a chance to tell us that you will log in and post a bit.
Do I have to be a member to post?
In most places, yes. The only exception is The First Aid Tent, where you can get help from staff if you are having problems.
Am I allowed to chat to a admin/mod in PM?
Yes, sure. If you need help with anything, you can either go to the First Aid Tent, or PM a staff member.
If I be active will I then get a staff place
No, being active does NOT ensure that you will get a staff position. But it does help you if a position becomes available. Think of it this way: who are we more likely to choose for a staff position, some one with 1,000 posts who is helpful and kind, or a person with 10 posts who is helpful and kind? However, getting a lot of posts does not ensure (as stated above) that you will get a staff position. Many things go into the giving of positions, and one of them is activity.
I don't want to be spoiled because I haven't seen all the episodes yet. How can I tell which threads would spoil things for me?
Don't worry. There is an easy way to tell which episodes contain spoilers. If you look at the page where you see a list of threads (known as the board homepage), you can see a little icon. Most of the icons are this: This means that this thread is spoiler free. However, if you see this in place of it: , then you will want to stay away from that topic if you have not been keeping up, as it contains a spoiler about the most recent episode. If you see this icon: , then there is a spoiler from 2 to 4 episodes ago, and if you see this icon: , then there is a general season two spoiler in that topic.
Thanks,
